You Tin can Tune a Pianoforte, but You Can't Tuna Fish is the seventh studio album by REO Speedwagon, released in 1978. It was their commencement album to be co-produced by atomic number 82 singer Kevin Cronin and pb guitarist Gary Richrath. The album was REO's first to make the Top 40, peaking at No. 29.[5] The album sold over 2 1000000 copies in the Usa, which led it to being certified 2× Platinum.
This is the first album to feature Bruce Hall on bass, replacing Gregg Philbin. In 2013, the album was released on CD by UK-based company Rock Processed Records, with expanded liner notes and photos.
The hits "Time for Me to Wing" and "Coil with the Changes" have since become two of the band's all-time-known songs. "Time for Me to Wing" was later covered in a bluegrass organisation by Dolly Parton on her 1989 album White Limozeen. In 2005, the album cover was featured on Pitchfork's listing of "The Worst Record Covers of All Time",[6] and in 2014 its championship was featured in NME'south list of "The fifty Worst Album Titles in History".[7] In 2020, Netflix's Ozark Tv set series third flavor episode, "Kevin Cronin Was Here" featured "Fourth dimension for Me to Fly", which resulted in the song making the peak xl on the Billboard Digital Songs Chart.[viii] [9]
"Roll with the Changes" was featured in the 2011 motion-picture show The Motel in the Forest. Greenbacks Box said that it "opens with a flowing piano riff that apace develops into a dynamic, well-structured melody propelled by electrifying guitar licks."[10]
"Time for Me to Fly" [edit]
The song "Time for Me to Fly" peaked at No. 56 on the Billboard Hot 100 in 1978; despite this relatively minor peak position, it has get one of the band's best-known songs, and has received airplay on FM radio over the years. According to vocalizer Kevin Cronin, the song was inspired by his breakup with his high school girlfriend.[11] The song would again hit the superlative 40 in 2020 on Billboard's Digital Songs Chart later it was featured on Netflix'south Ozark 3rd-season episode, "Kevin Cronin was Here",[8] [9] also as its usage in the films Vision Quest and Grown Ups.
